Visiting the Szabos in PE - August 2011

We made our first family road trip down to see the Szabos at their new home in August.  What a great place they have for entertaining!  We got to meet Zed the dog, go on crazy car rides through Addo Elephant Park and meet the most amazing group of kids at the Blind School. We loved the PE beachfront - so clean it made us feel like we were back in America in some ways.  This visit became especially memorable as it was the last time we would see our friend Zwelake - who died later on that year.

Cam and Rick in their element!
BBQing (not Braai'ing) at Addo

Having a picnic lunch with some of the PE church members at Addo Elephant Park.
Zwelake - a wonderful preacher of his faith!

Spotted a caracal right beside the car on the game drive
just happened to glance down - what a find!

Sometimes the noise level was just unbearable!
Wonder how long it took Sonya to be able to feel her legs after 3 hours of lap sitting?

Can you believe we fit all these people into 3 cars?
Had a great time getting lost in the park and entering the twilight zone
of delayed sms'ing.  Glad Rick didn't send in the troops to find us!

Church service at the school for the blind

Man alive can they sing!
