A few weeks ago at Hogsback I found a chameleon. I was on a hike. First, we went in the forest and dad took a few pictures. There was a small bridge where we got some great pictures. We kept on hiking until we got to a cliff. Dad got a few over-the-edge pictures of the cliff. It must have been at least 1 km to the bottom of the cliff. Then we went on the hike back. On the way back I found a chameleon. Dad played with him and put him on his head. Dad decided we were going to keep him. We named him Charm. It is difficult fun having a new pet. At East London we got Charm a cage. I like him a lot.
Sincerely,
Shiloh

Dear Shiloh,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice new pet! What does he eat? Does he sleep during the day or is he playful during the day? Does he really turn colors?
Auntie Sonya and Jude, Zane & Charlotte
Hi Sonya, Jude, Zane and Charlotte!
ReplyDeleteShiloh asked me to answer your question as he's a bit sad right now because his pet Charms died last week. He was a very sweet pet, active when you took him on your hand and fun to watch when he ate his crickets and mealworms. He turned mostly brown and green colors, and sometimes green with blue dots. One day he jumped out of his cage when we didn't think he could! Cameron was in the process of building him a permanent cage and he got overheated outside when we had a day that was warmer than expected. We are now doing lots of research to learn exactly what we need to know about chameleons and then we'll see if we can save up to buy another one.
We hope you all are enjoying your school time. We take a week break in September, then our summer is for a month in December - January.
We missed seeing you all this summer.
Much love,
The Beelers
